DADA
Project Type
Photography

December 2017

This was my first semester work for university. I decided to create a dadaistic approach to a documentation of a party. It was partly inscenated, and partly I just told the girls to do whatever they think is good and I gave them some more instructions. These are all my friends; Julie, her sister Elena, their cousin Frieda and Julie's roommate Tatyana. I wanted it to seem like someone found these photos in the cellar of an old woman, revealing her and her friends' wild past. I tasked my friends to be naked and to wear furhats, to create an somewhat vintage atmosphere. I call it Dada because I love the artistic movement and the fact that they completely questioned the meaning and the definition of art. That is why the order of the photos does not play too much of a roll, it is, after all, Dada.
The photo were shot on my Nikon D5100 and my Nikkormat film camera. I decided to fuse both analogue and digital into one series of polaroid-like photos.
